In german television (NDR3) I recently saw a report about orgone energy
made by Martin Steinhoff. The title was "Auf der Suche nach Orgon"
that is: "In Search of Orgone".
I want to try a short summary of this report. May be here in Germany,
it is easier, to do research on this topic.
The report began with several interviews, where people described their
experiences with a special powder of quartz: It shall help against sleepness,
wounds heal faster, lakes get clear again, a farmer has one third less
cost for veteranarian and some more.
This special powder is produced by Mr. Plocher in Meersburg, Germany. In
an interview he showed his factory, where the powder and some more products
are given a ray treatment with orgone energy. The reporter told, that 20
tons of this powder are produced every month, and it is exported to 18
countries.
In an other interwiew, Mr Guede of the Institut fuer Seenforschung (Institute
of lake-research) said they made an experiment that showed no significant
effect of this powder.

Prof. Dr. Dietrich Meyer of Fachschule Suderburg told from a research
about sewage plants. Two out of three sewage plants showed better water
after a treatment with the orgone-powder. At Suderburg there is now a laboratory
experiment running. First results show, that there is an effect, that nobody
can explain yet.
A short history of Wilhelm Reich was given. It sounds a bit absurd,
that Reichs books were burned in USA and that until today it is forbidden
by law to heal with orgone.
Another interview was with Mr Gebauer. He wrote his dissertation in
psychology about orgone-energy. An experiment with 12 people showed with
99% security, that the temperature in the kernel of a persons body raises,
when sitting in an orgone accumulator. As usual they constructed a double
blind experiment. Even two children and a blind person was involved.
Then there was an interwiew with Mr Lassek of the Wilhelm Reich Institut
in Berlin. ( It was very surprising for me to see the enneagram symbol
at the gate of this institute. Has anyone heard about a connection between
Gurdjieff and Reich ?)
He reported about the treatment of cancer patients. Most of them needed
much less painkillers after treatment with the orgone accumulator. They
also lived longer than expected.
At last Prof. Dr. Arnim Bechmann of Institut fuer oekologische Zukunftsperspektiven
( Institute for ecological perspectives in future) compared orgone energy
of today, with radio waves two hundred years ago. He sees a need for research
on this topic.
So far my summary of the report.
At the moment, there is a rising interest in Reichs ideas. A popular
publisher of "alternative" litarature (2001, Frankfurt) has begun
to publish a series of six books of Wilhelm Reich.
Excerpts out of the dissertation of Mr Gebauer and results of Mr Lassek
are found in a just published book, together with exact instructions how
to build orgone accumulators.
